We are establishing a high-performing engineering team to support the development, architecture and integration of next-generation Naval Command & Control (C2) and platform control software systems for Navy vessels.

The Senior Architect Lead, Control Software will define and own the technical architecture for control software domains, ensuring robust, secure and scalable solutions across combat and platform systems. The role combines deep software architecture expertise with technical leadership, guiding multidisciplinary engineering teams through software structure, design patterns, code quality and technical stack to ensure scalability and maintainability.

This is a senior technical authority position with strong operational and defense context, responsible for shaping long-term control software architecture within naval programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Define high-level design, set coding standards

• Act as primary technical interface toward the customer

• Drive planning, backlog prioritization and agile execution

• Ensure documentation, traceability and configuration control

• Ensure compliance with military and naval standards

Technical Governance

• Creates the blueprints in close cooperation with teams

• Design patterns and frameworks

• Configuration management

• Technical risk management

• Work closely together with cybersecurity experts on architecture, according to established international standards

Education, experience and personal profile:

You have a MSc or BSc and minimum 8+ years of proven success in Software Engineering and a background from the Defence industry. Insights into Navy related systems and/or command & control systems is a great advantage.

You feel comfortable working with NATO interoperability standards and cyber security in defence systems from day 1.

Either you already have a NATO HEM security clearance, or you conform with the requirements.
